Student's Committment and Conduct
Dress CodeStudents dress may be casual but must be neat, clean, and modest. Body hygiene is expected to be within normal standards.
Spirituality and Commitment Students must have experienced personal salvation through Jesus Christ. Students must be committed to studying God’s Word and to developing the skills necessary to communicate the knowledge of the Bible they have obtained to others. Students retain the right to affiliate with the church or organization of their choice.
ConductEvery student’s conduct is expected to conform to Christian values and standards. STLTS presents God’s Word as the absolute authority in all matters in Christian life. Questions regarding social values and expected standards of conduct should be discussed with the Director of Student Affairs. Unacceptable conduct includes but is not limited to:
- misuse of alcohol or drugs in or out of the classroom during the period of enrollment at STLTS; or
- misuse of God’s gift of sexual intimacy during the period of enrollment at STLTS, including any form of fornication, adultery, incest, pornography, homosexuality, lesbianism, or bisexuality.
Academic, Financial, and Social Guidance and Student GrievancesStudents are encouraged to seek guidance for questions or problems concerning their enrollment at STLTS with members of the Administration. Students contact
• the Director of Academic Affairs regarding academic matters;
• the Director of Business Affairs regarding records and financial matters; and
• the Director of Student Affairs regarding social matters.
After students have discussed matters of concern with the appropriate Director, students may bring the matter to the President. Issues that remain unresolved are referred to the Executive Committee. The final step in resolution is presentation to the Board of Regents. Decisions made by the Board are final.
Disciplinary Action and AppealsUnacceptable academic, financial, or social conduct during enrollment at STLTS will result in disciplinary action at the discretion the Executive Committee. Such disciplinary action could include the Executive Committee’s recommendation to the Board of Regents for a student’s expulsion. Only the Board of Regents can mandate expulsion. Students retain the right to request an appeal of any disciplinary action taken by the Executive Committee to the Board of Regents. Decisions made by the Board are final.
